The aim of liposuction, also referred to as liposculpture, is to remove excess fat deposits that are located between the skin and muscle. Some women can feel a lack of confidence about their figure; despite living a healthy lifestyle, there are certain areas of the body that naturally carry more fat than they would like. Liposuction is most often performed on the hip area, but the upper arms, sides (or “muffin tops”), inner thighs, knees, or neck area are also very common areas to target and reshape. Thanks to the impressive advances in technology, the options we have for liposuction at Glow give you the freedom to choose a procedure that works for your lifestyle and focuses treatment on very specific areas that are concerning you. By removing the stubborn fatty areas that you have not been able to tackle with everyday health and fitness solutions, you’ll be able to reenergise your confidence and celebrate the shapely, feminine figure you deserve.
At Glow, we understand that everyone’s reasons for wanting liposuction are completely unique, so we listen, we treat you like an individual, and we always provide a bespoke service. The procedure is usually performed under general anaesthetic, although if you choose to have Vaser or Laser Liposuction this can be done under local anaesthetic and sedation. Procedure time can vary with the number of areas being treated and can take from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Depending on the type of procedure, your surgeon may require an overnight stay, but usually, you will be back home on the same day.
We offer 3 types of liposuction for you to choose from at Glow:
Your surgeon will make small incisions, less than ½ cm, near the areas which will be treated. Through these incisions, a thin tube called a cannula is inserted to help loosen the fat. When in place, a device is attached to the end of the cannula which uses suction to target and remove the fat from the body. Once all areas have been treated and the incisions closed, a compression garment or tight, secure bandages are applied to the areas.
Tiny incisions are made in the fatty areas and a small probe emitting ultrasound energy is inserted, which loosens fat from other tissues in the area and breaks it down. The fat can then be removed in a very targeted and accurate way through a small tube. Vaser Liposuction is very popular because it is so successful in removing both large areas and smaller, delicate areas of fat in a very powerful but precise way. The specialist tools used mean that the incisions are so small, they do not require any stitches. The recovery time for this minimally-invasive procedure is faster than other types of liposuction.
Similar to Vaser liposuction, laser liposuction is minimally-invasive, with only tiny incisions being made to remove fat from the body. Highly developed laser technology selectively targets fat cells which absorb the laser light and then emulsify. This makes it easier to then remove the fat, using suction through very small incisions. We can treat up to 3 areas in one session, these can be parts of the body considered difficult to treat with traditional liposuction, thanks to the accuracy and precision of the laser technology. You can benefit from a quick recovery time and impressive results with laser liposuction.
