With a busy daily life, hectic schedule, sun exposure and the natural passing of time, you may be noticing more lines of expression, folds, and sagging skin in the cheek, chin and neck areas that highlight the ageing process. Some women may not feel like the best version of themselves because of the wrinkles and drooping skin they see in the facial area, especially if they feel it doesn’t represent their confident, sharp, mind and body. A facelift, known as a Rhytidectomy, focuses on tightening and smoothing the skin to restore a youthful glow and create a bright, reinvigorated look. The procedure involves the skilful removal of excess facial skin from the neck, chin and cheek areas. If your surgeon determines it’s right for you and the look you want to achieve, eyebrows and forehead wrinkles can be treated with an endoscopic brow lift as well. Glow’s patients see dramatic results, often setting the clock back about ten years.
At Glow, we understand that everyone’s reasons for wanting a facelift are completely unique, so we listen, we treat you like an individual, and we always provide a bespoke service. The procedure, performed under general anaesthetic, normally takes between 2-4 hours, sometimes up to six in more complex cases. You’ll require one or two nights stay in one of our comfortable, private hospitals.
Your surgeon will elevate and reposition the skin and soft tissue of the face. During the procedure, incisions are made in front of the ears, extending up and forward along the hairline and around behind the earlobes. Depending on the specifics of the procedure you and your surgeon agree on, further incisions may be made under the chin, at the neck or behind the hairline to address particular areas of concern. Redundant, excess skin is then removed, then fat and soft tissue is redistributed to create natural facial contours. The skin is lifted and incision lines are securely closed in front of and behind the ears. With an endoscopic brow lift, very short incisions are made behind the hairline and specialist instruments are used to reposition the soft tissue and muscle in the brow to smooth wrinkles and tighten the brow area. As the skin heals, incision lines fade and blend with the hairline and natural creases around the ears.
